Questions to ask at an interview and before joining
Polite Korean and English questions about duties, hours, pay, contracts and document support.
Prepare your questions before the interview
Read the posting again and choose the points that remain unclear. At an early interview, focus on the role and expectations. As an offer becomes concrete, confirm the full conditions in writing before agreeing to join. You do not need to ask every question at once; note who will answer each one.
Duties, location and working hours
Ask about regular tasks, your team and how work is assigned. Check whether the location can change and how the schedule works in practice. If the posting says remote, flexible or shift work, ask what that means for this role rather than assuming a schedule.
Contract and pay conditions
Ask which entity employs you, whether there is an end date, and how any initial assessment period works. Clarify the pay period, amount before deductions, included allowances and payment date. Record unclear points and compare the written response with the contract. If the two conflict, ask for clarification before signing.
Experience hiring international staff and document support
Ask politely who handles the employer’s documents and whether the company can provide what the official procedure requires. Previous hiring experience can help communication, but it does not establish your eligibility. Confirm requirements with immigration using your actual status and duties, and agree on a start date only after the relevant checks.
After the conversation
Send a short follow-up summarizing the conditions you understood and list any open questions. For example: “Thank you for explaining the role. My understanding is [confirmed details]. Could you also confirm [open point]?” Replace the brackets with real agreed information. Keep the record privately; do not put your documents or immigration details into a public comment or shared guide link.
