Where can international students get career preparation help?
Know who to ask: university offices, Study in Korea, Work24 and immigration advice channels.
Start with your university
Your career support office may offer application feedback, interview practice or help understanding roles. Ask what is available to international students and graduates, in which language, and how to book. Your international office can help with your study timeline, university records and finding the appropriate immigration contact. Services and staff roles differ by university.
Study in Korea: orientation for international students
Study in Korea is run by NIIED. Its Employment in Korea page provides an overview of recruitment and application preparation. Use it to learn the process and identify questions, then check an employer’s own requirements. General explanations and older reference figures on an overview page do not establish current immigration rules for your case.
Work24: explore employment services and how to use them
Work24 is the employment service portal of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Employment Information Service. Explore its service descriptions and user guides for employment support and application tools. Before registering or applying for a program, check that program’s target group, identification requirements and application channel. Being able to read a page does not mean you can use every service.
HiKorea and 1345: questions about your stay and planned work
HiKorea is the Ministry of Justice’s portal for foreign residents. Its procedure pages link to status-specific guidance. For a question about your own status, planned duties or required process, use the Immigration Contact Center 1345 or your responsible immigration office. The official 1345 page explains the inquiry service. Your university and employer can help organize information, but their advice does not replace the relevant authority’s decision.
Keep a small record of the advice
Write down the source, date, question and next action in your own notes. If two answers seem different, check whether they refer to different statuses, services or dates and ask the relevant office to clarify. This guide links to services; it does not collect vacancies, events, applications or documents.
Before you move on
- I have chosen the right office for my question.
- I will check eligibility for the particular service.
- I will record the source, date and next action privately.
